Burrr it's been cold outside! But we're lovin' it.

I feel like January has been a roller coaster moving by faster than a speeding bullet.  I started off the year with a plan to ski every Monday.  Megan, my niece agreed to babysit Kara and Mia from 8:30 am - 3:30 pm to earn some spending money for herself.  This has worked out great - I haven't missed a Monday yet.  I've had to make some other changes in my schedule though, because I was volunteering at Ellie's class as a reading helper on Monday mornings.  Still trying to volunteer at various times.   I decided to cut some things out of my schedule including Kindermusik and Scrapbook club, but ended up adding a few other time consuming things.

I started taking piano lessons again with the goal of eventually receiving a musical calling at church.  It's been three weeks and I'm already feeling more confident and strengthening my hands.

Pre-school play group - It took awhile to get it started up (not my fault) but every Wednesday afternoon 3 mothers and I swap teaching a 2 hour preschool lesson.  We are going to do this just through the end of May.  So, I get to teach lessons and crafts for toddlers.

Enjoying Bunko night out with the ladies, once per month.

I started riding my bike again inside on my trainer. Plus other random workouts.  I'll really start "official" training in February.  I signed up to ride 60 miles of the Goldilocks 2011 which is on Saturday, May 11th.

I volunteered to teach Jr Achievement to Ellie's 1st grade class.  The Elementary School Program is an economics and business curriculum for students.  I will be teaching five thirty minute classes called "Our Families" which discuss the role of families in the local economy.

Steve is going to move to a new office in Park City called Prospector.  He will be taking on some new responsibilities and gaining experience with Talisker Operations.

Our Canyons ski passes are such an awsome perk from Steve's job. I have really enjoyed skiing and plan to the next few months.  I've enjoyed inviting friends to ski with me a few times.  I'm getting pretty confident with my skiing and have even tried a groomed black diamond run which I slid down on my belly turning around in circles.  Better stick with the double blue until I get stronger and take a few lessons.

Last weekend Ellie and Kara went Skiing for the first time.  The Canyons was having a special that we just couldn't pass up.   They were in Ski School for 2 days.  It's always better to have someone else teach your kids to ski, therefore avoiding much frustration on the part of the parent and child.  I was so proud of Ellie for being BRAVE.

Now, we just have to get them back on the slopes so they don't forget what they learned.

For some indoor winter fun....we tried the new Incredible Pizza that recently opened up in Draper.  Ellie and Kara loved the spinning bumper cars.

Bought and planted tulip bulbs for my front flower beds that I am anxious to see bloom in the spring.   Don't come too fast spring, I still need some more good skiing days.  You should have seen me shoveling snow off the dirt to dig holes for the bulbs.  I was only able to do it because that new sod I brought in sometime in October.

We finally have three beds for our kids!!! Yay....
I found this great deal from KSL Classifieds for a super cute girls four poster bedroom set for Ellie.  Then, I was finally motivated to paint her room....and then used the left over paint for the downstairs bathroom.  Now I just have to get some bedding, wall decorations and curtains and her room will just be comfy cozy : )
