October 2010

This month has been very fun for us.  Fall is my favorite season.  I love the colors.  The girls and I went and gathered leaves from the canyon to use for an art activity for our play group.  We also enjoyed a trip to the Dinosaur Museum at Thanksgiving point.  Steve and I went on a date to see "La Boheme" performed by the Utah Opera Company.  One of our friends in our ward was part of the chorus, which encouraged us to attend.  We had a new family picture taken on a dock on the lake near Daybreak.  Steve started taking the girls on Daddy Daughter Dates, once a week.  This is a huge hit, the girls adore spending time with him and have been drawing him love notes the entire month.  As a family we enjoyed going to the Pumpkin patch and picking out pumpkins to carve for Halloween.  We attended several Halloween parties and enjoyed participating in our Neighborhood Trick or Treating  (Steve took the kids around the block and I stayed home and passed out candy).

Ellie has been off track for the past few weeks.  She starts school again next Monday.  Last month she wrote a story and drew pictures (which I taped) for PTA Refections.  We will find out next week if she placed.   I have enjoyed volunteering for her class Monday mornings reading with the 1st graders on a one on one basis.  She was so excited to be a princess pumpkin this year for Halloween.

Kara wanted to be a ghost, so I had to make her costume - luckily no sewing involved and it turned out cuter than I thought.  A spot opened up in a neighborhood preschool, so she started last month.  She has a fabulous teacher.  She has also started taking a ballet/tap class.  More info on her holiday performance to come...

Mia was a pink butterfly for Halloween.  Steve said that she was adorable to watch trick or treating.  Last month Mia and Mommy started attending a Kindermusik class together on Wednesday mornings.

Steve and I have been singing in our Ward Choir which is quite good.   We will have two performances for the holiday's, one for Thanksgiving and one for Christmas.  I will let you all know about times and dates if you would like to attend.   This past month Steve entered the world of App's with his purchase of a new iPhone and iPad.  We've both been learning how to use our new phones and have enjoyed talking on our phones together using Facetime.

We love you all,
Delani
