One of my favorite scriptures is Ecclesiasties Chapter 3:1:
This November was a time of thankfulness and gratitude.
We purchased a new dining room table! I've been waiting for this since we moved into our new house and gave our old table away.
I enjoyed decorating our "new" dining room, preparing for guests.
Ellie was the Overall Primary Winner in Theater for her age group in reflections this year.
She got her hair cut, and went to the dentist this past month.
Kara shared her "All About Me" poster which she expressed her desire to be a cowgirl when she grows up. They also had a crazy hair day at preschool so I made her ratted ponytails.
We hosted Thanksgiving at our house with my side of the Family. I wanted to remember the old times when we went to Grandma Staker's house in Salt Lake City so, we used some old tablecloths, decorations and green tinted stem glasses. It brought back good memories. I shared the story of Mary's First Thanksgiving by Kathy Jo Wargin which talks about the 5 kernels of corn pilgrim tradition. Everyone in the family wrote five things they were thankful for and put them in the jar to be read anonymously. After dinner, the ladies in the family put together crafts - a pilgrim sticker scene, button snowflake and painted a turkey sun catcher. The men watched the Saints football game. Overall it was a great success for a very cold, snowy Thanksgiving day!
We ended the busy month by going to the Discovery Center at the Gateway. The girls had fun attending the curiosity shop class and making "Poppet" dolls. Poppet dolls are the kind of toys the pilgrims played with.
I did wake up and go shopping on Black Friday......but ended up getting rear ended on my way home. The bumper on my Odyssey was scratched up but no other damage. My car is in the shop at this moment. Hope I can pick it up this morning.

We watched the Saints game on Thanksgiving too! Regardless of which side you were rooting for it was an AMAZING football game - very entertaining.
