November 2010 "The Bad"

You can't have the good without the bad right and because I'm generally a glass half full type person, I forgot to add the bad stuff that happened in November.

First, we had sick kids.  The second week of November Mia had some type of flu bug with fever, diarrhea, and throw up.  I never had a kid poop so much in my time as a mother.  The next week, Mia got croup.  And then the week before Thanksgiving, Ellie got croup too.  Both of them were treated with steroids.

Second, the check engine light went on in our Honda Odyssey.  We took it to Firestone and found out that the Catalytic Converters needed to be replaced.   It has something to do with the emissions.  This was not a cheap fix.  Its going to end up costing us a few grand, which is never fun.  It's made Steve and I wonder if our choice to get an Odyssey over another Sienna was a good one.  I don't think we're ever going to buy another Odyssey again.

To end on a good note, I forgot to add in my post earlier that for Thanksgiving we used my Great Grandma Staker's old antique china.  The china originally belonged to my great grandmother on by grandpa's side of the family tree.  And my mother's real silverware, which was a wedding gift from her uncle Kelly (grandpa Staker's brother).  Which I had the opportunity to polish myself.   I love celebrating the holiday's in style.
